After receiving her BFA in Illustration from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Nicole DiBenedetto began a career as a Graphic Designer and freelance artist. She learned quickly how demanding the art industry could be and took on a regular yoga practice to help keep her grounded. After five years of trying to make her career work, she realized it was not the right fit and switched her career to become a yoga teacher. Nicole has been teaching yoga on Staten Island for 7 years along with continuing her passion for art as a freelancer. Through her training at Integral Yoga Institute in New York City, she specializes in the practice of Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Kid’s Yoga and Mommy & Me Yoga along with teaching Vinyasa to the general public. Nicole has continued to broaden her knowledge by getting certified in Thai Massage at Lotus Palm in Montreal, Canada where she now gives massage services to both the general public and prenatal clientele. Currently, Nicole runs her own yoga practice, The Yoga Nook, LLC as well as teaches at the South Shore YMCA and Island Martial Arts in Staten Island. She also runs the Children’s Yoga Programs at both The Foresight School and FasTracKids in Staten Island.

Exercise and healthy living have always been a part of Laura’s life. As yoga began to transform her life, this led to Laura completing her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica, and completing an additional 150 Advanced Yoga Teacher Training hours in Guatemala, both through Frog Lotus Yoga International. She is well on her way to becoming a 500 hour registered yoga teacher. Practicing yoga makes Laura feel healthy, calm and grounded, and she brings this energy to the classes she leads. She strives to bring a sense of fun, freedom and kindness to her classes, and imparts yoga wisdom and philosophy along the way. Laura guides students to become aware of their own bodies through the connection of vinyasa flow and mindful breathing. In maintaining a mindful practice, Laura believes the mind-body-soul connection teaches how to live a fulfilling, peaceful and healthy life, on and off the yoga mat. Laura’s gentle manner is well suited to leading students of all levels. Laura is trained in Vinyasa Flow, Restorative, Gentle Flow, Mommy and Me, and Guided Meditations. Laura is also proud to be the co-director of Camp Good Grief of SI, a non profit organization which provides weekend camps for grieving children and teens. In addition, Laura offers private and small group yoga sessions, yoga in the workplace, corporate and private yoga retreats, and workshops.

Aja was hooked to yoga the day her mom took her to a yoga and belly dancing class in high school. After practicing for the past 15 years, she completed her 200 hour teacher training in 2014. Since then, she teaches group and private classes in Brooklyn and Northern New Jersey. Through intention, asana, and meditation, her goal for each student is to leave class feeling renewed and reawakened. Aja teaches in a way that provokes thought and meaning, yet is physically and mentally challenging. She believes yoga should be fun and you should leave class with a smile on your face and love in your heart. When she is not teaching yoga or going to yoga herself, she is a mother to 2 wild and free hippie kids, married to a Phish-head husband, designs mens activewear, cooks, cleans, and hopes to garden.

Ive been bending and stretching and om’ng and meditating for 15 years. My yoga practice began at Jivamukti in NYC when I was a freshman at NYU; it has followed me on my adventures to San Francisco, Washington DC, Cleveland, London, and beyond. In 2008, whilst drowning in text books and a deluge of anxiety, I finished my course with the British Wheel of Yoga. I started a Wellness Club at the Royal Veterinary College in London. We let go of our traditional roles as students and prof's and instead played with our bodies and opened our minds. Although my teachers are Astanga and Iyengar based, my classes are less structured and vary from dynamic flow to quiet yin.
When I’m not trying to pincha mayurasana off the wall, I am a veterinarian and animal behaviourist; I’m an audiophile and cheating vegetarian; I spend more time outside than most people I know and try super hard to make stuff and keep connected to my community. Hence this amazing Kreischer Mansion experience xo

“Music is a journey that touches your soul. It marks the time in your life”
Brian professional journey started when he was in his 40’s. He founded the Open Mic Project, an interactive musical group that had different musicians with different musical styles. This lead to The Brian Smith Live Karaoke Band: total interactive music. The music at Yoga classes he attended gave Brian a new direction. This music is a blending of eastern sounds with western melodies. Brian found a new interactive type of music. Playing in a Kirtan at Kripalu, or playing at a Yoga studio gave Brian a way to connecting people through music, being present in the moment, and enjoying the vibrations that the group create.
